What we need...

Due to a period of sustained growth, we are looking to recruit a Business Development Executive to join our Sales & Marketing Team.

Reporting to: Head of Land

About the Role: The Planning Portal is excited to launch LandMatch, a groundbreaking service that connects landowners with planning permission who wish to sell their land to buyers actively seeking such opportunities. This innovative platform is set to disrupt the UK land sales market by providing a unique, streamlined connection between sellers and buyers. We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Business Development Executive to play a key role in driving the success of this service by managing enquiries, converting leads into paying customers, and building strong relationships with our user base.

What you will be doing…

  • Lead Management: Handle incoming enquiries from landowners and potential buyers, ensuring prompt and professional responses.
  • Sales Conversion: Effectively communicate the value of the LandMatch service to potential sellers, addressing objections and closing sales.
  • Client Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with users to foster trust and encourage repeat engagement.
  • Market Understanding: Stay informed about trends in the land and planning permission market to tailor messaging and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Proactive Outreach: Identify and engage with potential sellers and buyers who would benefit from the LandMatch service.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with marketing and consulting teams to refine the service offering and ensure alignment with customer needs.
  • Reporting: Track and report on enquiries, sales conversions, and feedback to inform strategic improvements to the service.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in sales, business development, or customer-facing roles, ideally within property, planning, or related sectors.
  • Strong communication, with the ability to articulate complex concepts simply and effectively.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a passion for delivering excellent service.
  • Ability to manage multiple enquiries and sales processes simultaneously, maintaining attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with the UK planning and property market is a strong advantage.
