What we need...

A fantastic role with huge potential, ideal for an experienced and enthusiastic Head of Digital Marketing & Communications to continue their career at a successful midlands-based data and software business. Leading a team, you will be responsible for delivering first class digital marketing strategies and campaigns to a wide and varied range of clients.

You will lead strategic and operational decisions within the Digital Marketing team whilst closely managing existing projects and campaigns to ensure successful delivery and demonstrable results; you will be the company’s digital marketing authority.

This is a hands-on role, with overall responsibility for service delivery getting involved in client pitches and strategy meetings, as well as helping the team to manage the day-to-day execution of all aspects of our digital marketing services including SEO, email marketing, social media and PPC. The right person will have a strategic head along with a pragmatic “get things done” attitude to their role.

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, you will be a key member of the team with input into the company’s direction and strategy, and you will bring extensive SEO, social and digital marketing knowledge with you. The right candidate would ideally be operating in a similar role at another data-software business and will be a talented digital strategist, capable of inspiring and motivating those around you.

In addition, you will be the driving force behind our own digital marketing strategy, helping to define, shape and implement our content marketing and social media efforts. You will be the go-to person and authority on all things digital and will gain satisfaction from sharing knowledge and expertise with others.

What you will be doing...


  • Plan, recommend, prepare and oversee digital marketing strategies for both existing and new business
  • Continuously improve our digital services
  • Develop & drive our digital strategy, including our content marketing and social media activity
  • Craft strategies for all Marketing activities including Digital, Advertising, Communications and Creative
  • Identify opportunities to reach new market segments and expand market share


  •  Ensure a high quality and consistent service delivery across the whole digital marketing team
  • Liaise with internal and external clients throughout active campaigns
  • Know how to apply a multi-channel marketing mix when planning campaigns
  • Lead branding design and positioning
  • Ensure our brand message is always strong and consistent
  • Analyse consumer behaviour and determine customer personas
  •  Monitor competition


  • Set, monitor and report on team goals
  • Manage and coordinate marketing efforts throughout the business
  • Share experience and knowledge through coaching and developing your team
  • Build and manage a formidable marketing team


  • Produce detailed monthly performance reports & presentations where necessary
  • Ensure first class reporting on campaign performance across all marketing activity
  • Prepare and manage annual budgets for the Marketing department


What we are looking for.....

The ideal candidate must have demonstrable experience working for a large organisation in B2B digital marketing and website management. You will be a broad digital expert with great leadership and relationship management skills and a confident and clear communicator, able to demonstrable experience of engaging in conversations and building relationships with clients at the highest level. Extensive and up-to-date technical knowledge is also required, of a full range of digital marketing services, including SEO, content marketing, on and off page optimisation, link building, social media, email marketing, PPC, & conversion optimisation
