Marketing Administrator

Location: Bristol-based with a hybrid working policy

Salary up to £23,000 per annum, depending on experience

Who we are...

The Planning Portal website is the online planning application service for England and the home of planning and building regulations information. The information and services are used by a variety of audiences such as homeowners and industry professionals. We also create and support other digital products such as mapping, interactive guidance and third-party tools.

Due to a period of sustained growth, we are looking to recruit a Marketing Administrator to support the Planning Portal Business Development Team.

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Marketing Assistant will work alongside colleagues and support them to provide many activities to increase awareness and advocacy of our products and services and grow the business to maximise opportunities and revenues whilst providing an excellent customer service.

Primarily responsible for creating content for social media, managing email marketing mailing lists, supporting the delivery of Planning Portal communications and event coordination. The role also includes the creation of content for marketing campaigns and measuring them, plus supporting the team with their sales and marketing collateral.


What you will be doing....

  • Working with the web content team to create content for weekly newsletters and monthly bulletins.
  • Work with Subject Matter Experts to create content (words/video) for a variety of purposes, including:

o Content to inform users of changes to existing services and introduction of new services

o Content and promotion of monthly Market Insight Reports, Bulletins and other reports, as required

  • Liaise with other team members/external suppliers to design and create marketing materials for campaigns, events etc..
  • Use design software such as Canva to create online content and graphics
  • Create mailing lists from the CRM to target new and existing clients and delivery partners
  • Support the marketing team in the delivery of events such as conferences and webinars including:

o Promotional content and emails
o Delegate acquisition
o Follow up communications

  • Share content and update profiles on the Community Hub
  • Prepare and circulate monthly reports on email campaigns and social activity
  • Develop familiarity with the Planning Portal brand, mission and products to inspire ideas and original content.
  • Manage and respond to the shared company mailboxes
  • Work with the web content team to regularly review SEO metadata across the site
  • Be a custodian of the Planning Portal brand and ensure it’s applied correctly
  • Support our parent company TerraQuest with content creation as required.

What we are looking for.....

  • An effective communicator with strong written skills.
  • Organised, with the ability to handle multiple projects and priorities
  • IT literate with a good knowledge of Microsoft software
  • Self-motivated and proactive with a strong work ethic
  • A team player, who builds strong relationships with colleagues, customers and partners.
  • A desire to learn and develop with an interest in marketing and business development
  • A professional Marketing qualification
  • Experience in a similar marketing role
  • A strong attention to detail with creative ideas
  • Experience of Microsoft Dynamics CRM (or similar).
