Advertising Sales Executive

Bristol-based with a hybrid working policy

Full time, 40 hours/week

Salary: £20-25k per annum

 

Who we are...

The Planning Portal website is the online planning application service for England and the home of planning and building regulations information. The information and services are used by a variety of audiences such as homeowners and industry professionals. We also create and support other digital products such as mapping, interactive guidance and third-party tools.

What you will be doing.....

The Advertising Sales Executive sells Planning Portal advertising and listings in online directories to B2B customers across England and Wales. They may also sell other products and services as required.

Working within a small commercial team, the role offers scope for progression and exposure to wider commercial activities.

Responsibilities

  • Sell advertising to B2B customers across England and Wales in line with targets given, including identifying leads and discovering further revenue opportunities with clients as required.
  • Sell listings into the RTPI Planning Consultants, Approved Inspector and other directories in line with targets given.
  • Ensure all contact/organisation data, activities, leads, opportunities and sales are entered and accurately maintained in the CRM in real-time.
  • Actively seek insight into our advertising offer and feed it into the insight process to make improvements where necessary.
  • Ensure customer information is collected and passed to the Finance team in a timely manner, so as not to delay go live/revenue collection.
  • Ensure accurate advert creatives are supplied by the client to site specifications.
  • Upload adverts to Google Ad Manager in a timely manner to deliver on contract start dates.
  • Ensure signed contracts are received by all new advertisers prior to campaign start dates for the campaign to go live.
  • Sell event sponsorship options to clients as required
  • Consistently manage relationships with existing accounts and develop new campaign initiatives based on client requirements.

Measures

  • Advertising and directory listings are effectively sold in line with budgets/targets and at required margins to deliver gross profit and EBITA.
  • Proactively gathers insight to identify product improvements, ensuring the information is accurately captured and presented in a timely manner.
  • Records activities, sales etc. within CRM and in other places accurately and in real-time.
  • Behaves professionally and ethically at all times, in keeping with the business’ core values and legal requirements.

What we are looking for.....

Essential:

  • An effective communicator with an excellent telephone manner and strong written skills.
  • Excellent IT literacy.
  • Self-motivated and proactive in managing priorities to achieve deadlines and sales targets.
  • A team player, who builds strong relationships with colleagues, customers and partners.

Preferred:

  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience in a B2B sales capacity.
  • Proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales targets.
  • Proven track record of new business development.
  • Experience of Microsoft Dynamics CRM (or similar).
  • Experience using Google Ad Manager/Google Analytics (advantageous)
